About my process:

When shooting a new project I really like to "scout" (AKA quick walk through the project to make a plan) when possible.

A typical shoot day is: 9am call time with my assistant and me, and our photo and lighting equipment. I shoot tethered to my computer so I can work the details of the image on a larger screen. I am always excited for shoot day, it's the best part of my job. I try and maintain a professionally comfortable atmosphere on set with a little music while shooting, rooms also have rhythm. The 3-D and 2-D worlds are very different and I arrange things in a room according to the camera. We are very careful to make sure that we get every room we photograph back how we found it, a happy homeowner is on the very top of my priority list.

I am not someone who documents the whole house like a real estate photographer. I really focus on the storytelling aspect of the space and only shoot the angles that best further the narrative to the viewer. I look to the beauty in the natural light to help communicate that. A good majority of my clients are interior designers and because of that, there is a stylist who comes to photoshoots. A stylist is someone who brings extra books, flowers, throw blankets, pillows, art that might be missing, and all the gorgeous bits of really impactful imagery.

Professional good stuff: Enthusiastic!, articulate, competent, bold, dynamic problem solver, and proactive.
